The Apple I was the first apple computer ever made. It was first shown to the public at the Homebrew Computer Club. They were hand-built. To finance its creation, Steve Jobs sold his only car, a VW van. Also Wozniak sold his HP-65 calculator for $500. It was demonstrated in April 1976 at the Homebrew Computer Club.

(The apple I's introductory price was US$666.66)

The Apple I was sold as much less as what a PC is today. It was simply a motherboard. Someone would have to add a keyboard, monitor, mouse, and, optionally, a case.
